Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and the MD Beautify operator ("we") for use of the MD Beautify marketing site at mdb.sliiu.app, the online web app at edit.mdb.sliiu.app, desktop apps, and Obsidian plugin (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Version 1.0.0 · Effective July 18, 2026

1. Definitions

In these Terms:

  • "We" means the entity operating MD Beautify and this website
  • "You" means the individual or organization using the Service
  • "Content" means Markdown text, theme settings, images, and materials you input, edit, render, or export

2. The Service

The Service provides Markdown beautification, theme rendering, styled copy, and image upload. The online web app at edit.mdb.sliiu.app may ship with a preconfigured third-party default image host for convenience; you may also configure other cloud storage (e.g., Qiniu, Aliyun, Tencent, S3). It is available as a marketing site, web app, desktop apps, and an Obsidian plugin.

We may add, change, or remove features and will use reasonable means to notify you of material changes.

The Service is provided as-is and as-available. Open-source components are governed by their licenses (e.g., MIT); these Terms govern your access to our operated Service.

3. Eligibility

You must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

Core features do not require an account. You are responsible for your device and local data; we do not custody Content on your device.

If we introduce paid plans or add-ons, scope, pricing, and billing are described in Section 8; specific entitlements are those shown in-product and on order confirmation at the time of purchase.

4. Your compliance with local law

You must comply with all laws that apply to you wherever you live and wherever you use the Service, including data protection, intellectual property, export control, consumer protection, and content rules.

If mandatory law in your country conflicts with these Terms, that mandatory law prevails to the extent required; the rest of the Terms remain in effect.

We are not responsible for your violations of local law and may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe there is legal risk or abuse.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload or distribute illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or privacy-violating content
  • Disrupt the Service or other users (including malicious attacks or bypassing technical limits)
  • Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to infringe third-party rights
  • Use the Service for unauthorized large-scale automated scraping or redistribution

6. Your content and intellectual property

You retain rights in your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, revocable license to process Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service (for example in browser or local apps; when you use in-product image-host integration, the technical steps needed to call the relevant API and return a URL).

MD Beautify software, UI, documentation, and trademarks remain ours or our licensors’; open-source portions are subject to their respective licenses.

7. Third-party services

Image upload in the online web app: you may use a preconfigured third-party default image host or cloud storage you configure. The default host is operated by that third party under its terms and privacy policy; we do not control its availability, retention, quotas, or moderation. Custom-host credentials stay in your browser and images are sent under that vendor's terms; we do not store your credentials on our servers.

The Obsidian plugin runs inside Obsidian; you must also comply with Obsidian and community rules.

We are not responsible for third-party availability, security, or compliance.

8. Plans and fees

Core features are currently free. If we offer paid plans or add-ons, scope, pricing, billing cycles, taxes, and refund rules are those shown in-product, on the site, and on order or checkout confirmation at the time you purchase or subscribe.

We may change plan names, features, or pricing and will notify you via site notice, in-product messaging, or as required by law. For active paid subscriptions, we generally honor the terms you confirmed for the current billing period; renewals or plan changes follow then-current published rules unless law requires otherwise.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free operation and fitness for a particular purpose.

We are not liable for losses from force majeure, networks, devices, browser issues, or third-party outages, where permitted by law.

You are responsible for published, copied, or exported Content, including copyright and confidentiality.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to fees you paid us in the prior twelve months, or the minimum amount required by applicable law if you paid nothing.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable costs (including attorneys’ fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or infringement of third-party rights, where permitted by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, security risk, or legal requirements.

Data handling after termination is described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law and disputes

Except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Disputes should be resolved through good-faith negotiation; failing that, courts with jurisdiction at our principal place of business, unless your local law grants you non-waivable jurisdiction elsewhere.

Users in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, and similar regions may have additional non-waivable rights under local law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms and post a new version and effective date on this page. Material changes may be announced on the site.

Continued use after the effective date means acceptance; if you disagree, stop using the Service.

Where required by law, material changes may require your renewed consent.
